Editorial integrity disclosure: This page replaces an earlier draft that contained industry-trend estimates we could not source from primary data. Every number below is queryable from the DCB production database. We publish only what we can prove.

What’s in the catalog

2,539Verified merchant programs (published)
232Programs in editorial review (draft)
2,324Programs with confirmed network attribution
59Editorial articles published to date

Network distribution

Of the 2,324 programs with confirmed network attribution:

Network Programs Share of attributed
Rakuten Advertising 2,141 92.1%
CJ Affiliate (Commission Junction) 183 7.9%
Impact, Awin, FlexOffers, PartnerStack 0 0% (ingestion pending API credential provisioning)

Categories represented

Of 2,539 published programs, 1,581 (62.3%) carry a primary category tag. The remaining 958 came from network feeds with incomplete category metadata; we tag these transparently rather than backfill arbitrary categories.

Category Programs in catalog Share of categorized
Retail 1,174 74.3%
Travel 88 5.6%
Home & Garden 78 4.9%
Beauty 75 4.7%
Fashion 71 4.5%
Software / SaaS 52 3.3%
Food Delivery 26 1.6%
Electronics 17 1.1%

Data quality

Three transparency tags published per program:

State Programs What it means
codes_state = stale_legacy 196 Promo codes last verified before our most recent editorial pass
codes_state = needs_editorial 219 Code-bearing merchant where no current offer is published
codes_state = refresh_blocked 2,124 Network API access pending provider approval; we surface the gap publicly rather than show stale codes
Missing category metadata 958 Network feed did not include category; pending manual editorial categorization

Editorial process

Three rules govern what enters this catalog:

  1. Direct network relationships only. Every program uses a confirmed publisher relationship through Rakuten Advertising or CJ Affiliate. No scraped affiliate paths, no overlay-hijack publishers.
  2. Transparent gap-tagging. Where data is incomplete (categories, current codes, network access), we publish the gap as a state tag rather than impute or fabricate.
  3. No metric we can’t reproduce. Every number on this page is queryable from the production DCB database. We do not publish “approximately” or “industry estimates.”
Methodology in one paragraph: The catalog is built from confirmed publisher relationships imported from Rakuten Advertising and CJ Affiliate REST APIs. Brand attribution, category tagging, and program metadata come from each network’s product feed. Editorial review verifies each merchant page renders correctly with active offers before publication. Records with no verified offer for > 14 days are flagged with a public _dcb_codes_state tag (refresh_blocked / stale_legacy / needs_editorial) rather than removed silently. We do not collect transaction-level cashback data or consumer survey data; this catalog is a publication state, not a market study.

For press and researchers

The catalog above is what we can prove. Two ways we can help with a story:

  • Custom data cut from what we have: by retailer category, by network, by data-state. Two-day turnaround.
  • Editorial expert commentary: Alex Carter (Editorial Lead) is available for personal-finance, retail, and consumer-savings reporting on background or on the record.

What we can NOT help with: total US cashback paid YoY, consumer-survey claims, or “73% of consumers…” style numbers. We don’t have that data and don’t pretend to. Bankrate, NerdWallet, and Forrester are better sources for industry-wide trends.

FAQ

Why doesn’t this page have total dollar amounts paid in cashback?

Because we don’t have that data. Total US cashback payouts require transaction-level data from the affiliate networks themselves (Rakuten, CJ, etc.) or from consumer-survey firms. DCB has program-relationship data and editorial publication state. We publish what we have and don’t speculate on what we don’t.

Is the 2,539-program catalog free to use for press and research?

Yes. The catalog numbers and category distribution on this page are free to cite with attribution to “Daily Cashback’s 2026 US Cashback Catalog.” For program-level data or custom cuts, email alex.carter@dailycashback.com for a two-day turnaround.

Why does 37.7% of the catalog have no category tag?

958 programs in the catalog came from Rakuten and CJ feeds where merchant-level category metadata was incomplete. Rather than backfill with arbitrary categories, we publish the gap publicly. The next editorial pass will manually categorize the top 200 of these by traffic.

Why are Impact, Awin, FlexOffers, and PartnerStack at 0% network share?

DCB’s network-ingestion pipeline for these four affiliate networks is built and pending API credential provisioning at the network operator level. We publish the gap rather than misattribute existing merchants.

Where can I see the full per-merchant data?

Each of the 3,226 merchant records is publicly browsable at /coupons/<merchant-slug>/ on dailycashback.com, with structured data markup (Store, Brand, Offer, FAQ, AggregateRating). Aggregated CSV exports of the catalog state are available on request.

Editorial integrity note: Every number on this page is queryable from the production DCB database as of 2026-06-26. If you cannot reproduce a number from the public dataset, that is a defect — please email alex.carter@dailycashback.com and we will correct it. We do not publish illustrative or “approximately” figures, and we do not republish industry estimates as our own.

Daily Cashback is operated by MV3 Co., Inc. Editorial team operates independently of merchant relationships. We earn affiliate commissions when users complete purchases through our links; this is disclosed on every store page.
